Deep Dives: The Content Creators
In the Deep Dive series, we have carefully selected Instagram content creators who meet specific criteria to ensure that our analysis is informative and insightful. Firstly, we will be featuring DIY and home decor content creators, which is what our account, 1776 Faux Farmhouse, focuses on. This will allow us to provide valuable insights into the strategies used by successful accounts in our niche. In the future, and at the request of others, we will expand into other niches. We just like to start with what we know.
Secondly, we will be featuring larger Instagram content creators with more than 150k followers. By analyzing the data of these accounts, we can gain insights into the strategies used by content creators who have achieved significant growth on the platform.
Lastly, we have chosen content creators who have been on the platform for at least a year. This ensures that we have enough data to provide a thorough analysis of their accounts and identify any trends or patterns in their content and engagement.
While we will keep the identities of the content creators anonymous in our blog posts. However, we will provide an in-depth report on each account for those who sign up for our email list. In our email, we will provide the username of the content creator so you can follow and learn from their strategies firsthand.
By studying the data of these content creators, we hope to provide valuable insights and tips that can be applied to your own Instagram account to help you achieve growth and success.
Deep Dives: The Data
There is a wealth of data publicly available on Instagram content creators, which we will be using to analyze their accounts. This data includes basic information such as the content creator’s username, full name, bio, and link in bio. We will also be looking at their follower count, follows count, highlight reel count, and whether their account is a business account or verified.
Additionally, we will be analyzing data on about 80 connected accounts that are considered similar to the content creator’s account. This data will be the same as the information listed above.
For each public post, we will be analyzing the post date, post type, caption, hashtag count, and hashtags used. We will also look at the mention count and mentions, the URL to the post, the comments count, and text for all comments. We will also analyze the likes count, views count (if it’s a video), video duration, and whether the post is sponsored or not.
While some data is publicly available, growth rate and follower count over time is not. This data can be purchased, and we will be using it to provide a more comprehensive analysis of the content creators’ accounts. By combining publicly available data with purchased data, we can gain a better understanding of how the content creators’ accounts have evolved over time and identify key trends in their growth and engagement.
Deep Dives: The Analysis
To extract insights and trends from the data we’ve collected, we will be utilizing several advanced analytical techniques. One of the techniques we will be using is sentiment analysis, which will allow us to determine the sentiment or mood of the content creator’s posts and comments. By analyzing the tone and language used, we can determine whether the content is positive, negative, or neutral.
Another technique we will use is feature engineering, which involves creating new variables or features from the existing data to help identify patterns and relationships. For example, we may create a feature that measures the length of the content creator’s captions or a feature that identifies the most frequently used hashtags.
We will also utilize natural language processing (NLP) to analyze the text data in the captions and comments. NLP will help us to identify the most common topics, themes, and phrases used by the content creator, as well as the level of engagement with their followers.
